Dubai part one

So the flight went way better than i expected. There was pretty much no trouble getting through security. I think I offended one of the guards though when i took my pump out of the elastic of my pants and she then told me that I did not have to expose myself. Anyways fast forward through the 12.5 hour non stop flight. I got to the hotel around 7:30 and met up with Bern and Lisa( the grown ups accompanying us) and two of my soon to be apartment mates, Emily and Zoey. If my camera didn't have so many pics on it I would post a picture of the hotel but there are like a billion images and they will not load right now. Soooo i'll try to put up a bunch of pictures tomarrow(sorry) We headed to a nearby hotel for dinner and ate a nice italian place.. which if my camera was working I would put up images from that too, there was a cute lil model of the leaning tower of pizza(sp?) made of pasta. So after that we headed back and soon after fell asleep. At around 12 my room/bed(which should be fixed tonight) mate Maya came in. Long night of no sleep blah blah. Next day we went to the University and were showed around by Ron.. it's a pretty bamf school. We were then introduced to Layla , who while having a very lovely disposition, grossly misinformed us about the culture of the girls from our school, and personally terrified me into thinking that saying something offensive would be completely unavoidable. However the girls were super nice and adorable and super pretty. Over the past two days we've taken a few feild trips( pictures of which will be posted) to a mosque, the Sharja achcialogical museum, and an art museum in Sharja. I think my favorite was the mosque. It was super intimate seeing as how we were the only group there. The woman who lead us in was covered in an abia and shayla and had a shocking, yet charming british accent. We pretty much learned about the culture and why things were the way they were, and then we got to see one of the men go through a short prayer.
While the sites were interesting the best part was really just interacting with the girls. They are so nice and just fun to talk to. Alia, the past two days, has brought us breakfast for the bus, both times were delicious. The food we had yesterday the girls just called "cheese and honey" which was like a cream cheesey type cheese, honey, and a rather thick crepe... which was delicious, and today she made chocolate muffins and cookies, which again were delicious. Khowla, probably the most outgoing of the group, braught us a yogurty-cottage cheese tasting drink called...laban? or something like that, and chilli flavored chips, she insisted we have them as part of the cultural experience. Ok well there is a lot more to say however our driver is here and I do not want to be stuck at Zayed all night so I got to cut this short.
